Multi-doc Faxing

"I have a question. When I'm doing dictation for a patient's PCP, I occasionally need to send a letter out as well. Is there any way to fax both documents at once?  It's boring to go through delivery screen twice."

Sincerely,
Sir Fax-a-Lot"

That's a great question Sir Fax! Yes indeed , there is a handy-dandy way to fax or e-mail multiple documents at once (and even to multiple recipients at once!) and this is the way it is done:

In Account Documentsselect the first document you want to fax. Then press Ctrl-click (hold down the Ctrl key and left-click at the same time) on each of the other documents which should be included. Then click the Deliver button at the bottom of the screen.

You will now find yourself on the Delivery Information screen. You can select multiple recipients in the lower half of the screen with the delivery method (fax or email) specified for each recipient (see the example, below).

Hit the OK button and voila! Your documents are now all whizzing through the faxoshpere, on their way to several providers all at once.

Hope this helps, and keep those questions coming!

A New Button!

We have received several suggestions about making future appointments readily accessible from payment posting. The idea is that this would assist users who are in the Payment Entry screen as they are adding a reminder statement for an unpaid co-pay, etc. In these cases it helps to know if a patient is going to return for a future appointment.

We have implemented this idea and have added a new button on the Payment Entry screen to take you directly to the patient's Account Registration screen. Here's how it works:

From the Payment Entry screen, click on the button (circled in red) next to the patient's date of birth:

You will now be taken to the patient's Account Registration screen where all future appointments will be listed in the Appointments drop-down box:.
An alternative method to accomplish the same thing is to press Ctrl+D while the cursor is on the account number (on the Payment Entry screen); this will bring up the patient's Account Information screen:

Selecting the Appointment  radio button will then bring up future appointments for perusal.

The "Ctrl-D" method will accomplish the same objective but we think the button is handier; besides which, we are pretty proud of our button!

Modemless MCR

Attention Rexpert Billers:

IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ!!!

On October 24th, Novitas Solutions (Medicare of PA/NJ/MD/DE) will no longer support Dial-up/Modem connectivity for claims submission or reconciliation retrieval. Great Valley Technologies acknowledges the impact of this change and has firm plans in place to accommodate this announcement by transitioning your Medicare EDI enrollment to Emdeon (Change Healthcare) prior to October 24th.

We will soon be contacting you directly to get the enrollment process started. With this new processing, there are also changes to Electronic Payment posting. Once the required EDI paperwork is filled out and submitted, Emdeon is estimating a processing time of approximately 7-14 days. Upon approval, Great Valley Technologies will make the appropriate changes to system settings that will give your practice the ability to submit Medicare claims via Emdeon.

After that , Medicare claims will be selected for submission durling your claims extraction process for EN07 (Emdeon/Change Healthcare). Additionally, the retrieval of your Medicare payment reconciliation file will be transitioned to Emdeon. The process to retrieve these reconciliation files is available via our "3rd Party Reconciliation" menus. GVT staff will assist you in the transmission and retrieval process, ensuring a comfort level with the new method. This process is currently in place and functioning well with our NY clients, so we are confident the transition will be a smooth one. Standard Emdeon claims processing fees will apply.

It is important to note that when you submit claims to Emdeon/Change Healthcare there will be a 24-48 hour processing time. This includes Emdeon/Change Healthcare claim approval/rejection processes and the process of sending claims directly to the payor. Medicare will notify Emdeon/Change Healthcare of rejections within 3-5 business days. It is imperative that you log in to Vision Suite to view your claims and check for rejections.
