IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ!!!
On October 24th, Novitas Solutions (Medicare of PA/NJ/MD/DE) will no longer support Dial-up/Modem connectivity for claims submission or reconciliation retrieval. Great Valley Technologies acknowledges the impact of this change and has firm plans in place to accommodate this announcement by transitioning your Medicare EDI enrollment to Emdeon (Change Healthcare) prior to October 24th.
We will soon be contacting you directly to get the enrollment process started. With this new processing, there are also changes to Electronic Payment posting. Once the required EDI paperwork is filled out and submitted, Emdeon is estimating a processing time of approximately 7-14 days. Upon approval, Great Valley Technologies will make the appropriate changes to system settings that will give your practice the ability to submit Medicare claims via Emdeon.
After that , Medicare claims will be selected for submission durling your claims extraction process for EN07 (Emdeon/Change Healthcare). Additionally, the retrieval of your Medicare payment reconciliation file will be transitioned to Emdeon. The process to retrieve these reconciliation files is available via our "3rd Party Reconciliation" menus. GVT staff will assist you in the transmission and retrieval process, ensuring a comfort level with the new method. This process is currently in place and functioning well with our NY clients, so we are confident the transition will be a smooth one. Standard Emdeon claims processing fees will apply.
It is important to note that when you submit claims to Emdeon/Change Healthcare there will be a 24-48 hour processing time. This includes Emdeon/Change Healthcare claim approval/rejection processes and the process of sending claims directly to the payor. Medicare will notify Emdeon/Change Healthcare of rejections within 3-5 business days. It is imperative that you log in to Vision Suite to view your claims and check for rejections.
